Press Release

Kraton Announces Temporary Closing of Houston Corporate Office Due to Hurricane Rita

HOUSTON, TX (September 22, 2005) Kraton Polymers LLC (Kraton) today announces it will be closing its Houston corporate office on Thursday, September 22nd and Friday, September 23rd, due to concern about Hurricane Rita.

Our polymer production facilities are located in Belpre, Ohio, and are consequently very remote from the U.S. Gulf Coast where Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall. We are concerned about interruptions to our raw material supplies and we are in close contact with our suppliers to understand their supply capabilities.

We can also expect some logistic delays, due to truck availability, and ask that you contact your order center representative to place your orders in advance. The 1-800-4-Kraton (1-800-457-2866) helpdesk number can be called for timely updates.

We will review the situation over the weekend and provide an update on any changes in our supply capabilities on Monday, September 26th.
