Price Increases for Kraton D Polymers in Europe
LONDON (Sept 20, 2004) – Kraton Polymers, the global leading supplier of styrenic block copolymers, is announcing a price increase for its clear and oil extended SBS polymers in Europe of 150 Euro per metric tonne with effect from 1st October 2004.
“Unprecedented increases in feedstock costs driven by high oil and naphtha prices continue to force up our costs,” said Roger Morgan, President Asia and Europe/Africa. “We must reflect the succession of feedstock cost changes by increasing prices of Kraton D polymer.
“To maintain the capability to fund our capacity investment plans, which are geared to support our customers’ needs, we must preserve reasonable levels of profitability in the short and longer term.”
The Kraton Polymers Group of Companies pioneered the production of styrenic block copolymers in the 1960s and today retains its position as the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of the technology. Manufacturers and formulators around the world use Kraton polymers in their compounds and applications to add value to their products through improved finish and advanced manufacturing processes.
