Low Temperature

Bitumen becomes brittle at low temperatures, unrolling during construction, building movement or shrinkage causes strains on the material, which can result in cracking. Modification with Kraton® polymers maintains flexibility and elasticity to much lower temperatures. The compound remains tough and elastic, enabling easy unrolling without cracking or crazing at the construction site on a winter morning. Also, strains on the product due to building movement, walking on the roof or shrinkage at low temperatures are safeguarded.
